God is consistent but not predictable. He is not an ATM machine. The efforts to standardize God by imaging predictable patterns of behavior may be problematical. The variety of Divine responses to prayer supports this premise. This does not undermine our faith but reveals the sovereignty of God. They that call upon the Lord will not be disappointed but they may be surprised. Human disappointment occurs when expectations are not realized. The consistency of God rests in His righteousness but to standardize Divine responses is problematical.
