What We Believe

In recognition of the diversity of doctrine and custom, which are represented in its participating bodies, the ICCC does not put forth a doctrinal statement beyond the following biblical affirmations:

  1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  2. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons, distinct yet one substance, essence and nature: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  3. We believe in the deity of Jesus of Nazareth, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in the descent of His Spirit to equip His followers, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  4. We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful humankind, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential by grace through faith in the substitutionary, sacrificial and redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, to continue Christ’s ministry and to accomplish the will of God on earth.

  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

  8. We believe in the return of Jesus who will reward everyone according to the Gospel, which is revealed in Scripture.
